Ways to earn
The ways customers can earn points, and the switch that turns earning on and off.

EarnKit can award points for purchases, for joining, for a customer’s birthday and for following you on social media. Each way to earn has its own switch, and one master switch controls all of them together.
Before you start
Go to Program › Ways to Earn.
Enable ways to earn
At the top of the page, turn on Enable ways to earn. While this is off, customers aren’t offered any of these ways to earn, and no new points are awarded, including purchase, welcome, birthday or social follow points. Purchase points already pending can still become available once their pending period ends, and orders paid while earning was on can still be processed. Referrals have their own separate switch. Your saved settings are kept, and points customers have already earned are unaffected.
Each way to earn also has its own switch below. A method only awards points when both its own switch and Enable ways to earn are on.
The ways to earn

| Welcome points | A once-only award, added on the first Rewards page visit or claimed there |
| Birthday points | A once-a-year award on a customer’s birthday |
| Social follow points | Points for following your store on up to three social channels |

Good to know
- Turning off Enable ways to earn turns off every way to earn for customers, but does not change your saved settings or take back points already earned. Purchase points still in their pending period when you turn it off can still become available.
- Referrals are controlled by their own switch, separate from Enable ways to earn.
- Each way to earn shows its own status, so you can see whether it’s live, or which switch is stopping it.
