Choose how customers earn points
When this step is done, you know which extra ways to earn you want, and which you do not.
In EarnKit: Home, then Ways to earn
Everything up to here got a working program in front of customers. The last two tabs of the checklist make it worth their attention: more ways to earn, and more to spend points on.
Nothing here is required. A program with purchase points and one reward is a real program. Add what suits your shop and mark the rest Not needed, so your checklist tells the truth rather than nagging you about something you decided against.

What is on this tab
Points on purchases is already on; you set the rate in the first step. The other four earn points without a purchase at all.
| Way to earn | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Welcome points | A reason for a guest to make an account. Awarded once, the first time a customer opens their Rewards page, existing customers included. |
| Birthday points | A once-a-year reason to come back, on a date that is already about them. |
| Social follow points | Points for following you, on up to three channels. Customers report the follow themselves. |
| Referrals | Your customers bring you new ones: a discount for the friend, points for the customer who shared. |
Each opens its own setup, with a worked example of what the customer would see. The next few pages take them one at a time, in that order, and then finish with your rewards.
Three of these cost you points for something other than a sale. That is the point of them, but it means the amounts deserve the same thought you gave your earning rate: generous enough to be worth doing, small enough that you are not giving away a reward to someone who has never bought anything.
