Currency
How EarnKit uses your store’s currency for earning rates and reward amounts.
Last reviewed
EarnKit uses your store’s currency automatically. There’s nothing to configure.
How EarnKit chooses it
EarnKit copies your store currency from Shopify when your loyalty program is first created, and your earning rate, rewards and points history are all denominated in that currency from then on.
Settings › General shows your store currency as EarnKit last read it from Shopify. It is read-only there. After a store currency change it can differ from the currency your program is still using.
Your currency determines:
- The unit your points-per-currency-unit earning rate is measured against (for example, points per dollar, or per euro).
- How reward discount amounts are shown and applied.
Good to know
- Changing your store currency in Shopify does not change the currency EarnKit already uses. Your existing earning rate, reward amounts and points history stay in the original currency, and EarnKit does not convert them. Email support before you change it, so your program can be checked first.
- A small number of currencies aren’t supported. If your store uses one of them, installation is blocked with a clear message rather than guessing at how to handle it.
