What your store needs to run EarnKit: Shopify’s current customer accounts, a supported currency, and the permissions EarnKit asks for.

To run EarnKit, your store needs Shopify’s current customer accounts. EarnKit checks your currency automatically when you install.
Customer accounts
EarnKit needs your store to use Shopify’s current customer accounts. Customers see their points and redeem rewards on the Rewards page, and the Rewards page only appears in current customer accounts. You can still install EarnKit on legacy customer accounts, but your customers can’t view or redeem their points. Stores on legacy customer accounts are not supported.
The Rewards page, and the points shown on the Orders and Order status pages, all appear inside customer accounts. Points on product pages and the Thank you page, and referral link tracking, appear outside them, but customers still need the Rewards page to redeem the points they earn.
EarnKit checks which customer accounts your store uses when you set up each display. If that check fails, confirmation is paused rather than accepted on your word; try again once EarnKit can check your account settings. See Shopify’s current customer accounts.
Currency
EarnKit checks your store’s currency when you install it. Installation doesn’t complete for a small number of currencies EarnKit can’t calculate points and rewards in correctly. See Supported currencies and languages for the full list.
Language
EarnKit’s customer-facing displays and setup screens are in English only.
Permissions
When you install EarnKit, Shopify asks you to approve the permissions it needs:

| Read customer merges | Keeping points correct when Shopify merges duplicate customer profiles |
If a store later revokes a permission EarnKit needs, EarnKit shows a notice asking you to reinstall and grant it again before you can keep using the app.
Good to know
- EarnKit tells you if something needs attention as you go through setup.
- Switching customer accounts is done in your Shopify settings, not in EarnKit.
