Launch checklist

Before you announce your loyalty program, confirm points, rewards, customer displays and optional earns are set up and tested in EarnKit.

Last reviewed

Once you’ve been through the setup guide, use this checklist before you announce your program to customers. EarnKit’s dashboard tracks the same four areas, so you can also check your progress there at any time.

Before you start

Finish the setup guide: Choose your points rate and first reward, give existing customers a starting balance, and turn EarnKit on.

Program basics

  • A points rate is saved.
  • At least one reward is enabled.
  • You’ve decided on starting balances: imported, started everyone at zero, or a migration that’s still in progress.
  • Points earning is turned on.

Customer experience

  • The Rewards page is added and reachable from the customer account menu. Customers can’t use their points without it.
  • You’ve decided, for each optional display, whether to add it or not: points on product pages, the thank-you page, the order-status page, and the orders page.

Ways to earn

  • Purchase points are set up and earning.
  • You’ve decided which other ways to earn to turn on: welcome points, birthday points, social follow points, and referrals. None of these are required.

Rewards

  • At least one reward is enabled and worth working toward.
  • Consider whether a second reward gives customers something further to aim for.

Test before you launch

  • Place a test order and confirm points are awarded and show up where you expect. See Test your program.
  • If you turned on points for test orders, reverse them before launch so they don’t count toward real customer balances.

What customers see

Everything on this checklist that you’ve completed. Nothing here is required to turn EarnKit on; it’s a check that what you’ve built is what you meant to show customers.

Good to know

  • Marking something “Not needed” on the dashboard is a real, saved decision, not just skipping past it; it settles the question rather than leaving it open.
  • Adding another reward is always available and never something you finish for good; come back to it as your program grows.
